3Diligent has updated its procurement service with new software—called ProdEx—and introduced new manufacturing shop-management software called 3Diligent Shopsight. The two services work together to enhance the firm’s Industry 4.0 offering.

Using ProdEx, engineers and buyers of parts and assemblies can one-stop shop for express manufacturing across thousands of material and technology combinations. ProdEx, powered by users of Shopsight, provides shop managers with tools to manage and enhance their operations, sourcing custom parts on-demand through a secure web portal. The service includes dynamic assessment, quoting and fulfillment of requests using proprietary algorithms, for technologies such as 3D printing, CNC machining and injection molding. Its search tools allow customers to rapidly search for and identify solutions from the ProdEx database of hundreds of machines and materials, among 3Diligent’s global network of nearly 350 plants in 20 countries. ProdEx includes real-time part assessment and quoting features that allow customers to rapidly compare manufacturing options. The software allows customers to customize their eligible suppliers using criteria such as country, certifications and conformance documents.

3Diligent Shopsight empowers shop operators to streamline and enhance their preproduction and production operations, while also gaining access to ProdEx job opportunities. With the pre-production solution, suppliers can leverage 3Diligent tools to quickly assess which technology/material combinations are viable for a job. Further, they can estimate the price just seconds later. This functionality is critical for operators that currently spend hours assessing the best possible way to make parts and requoting work for customers.
