Ten OH-based manufacturers have partnered to form the Medina County Manufacturers Partnership, an employer-led organization focused on bringing apprenticeship training to Medina County, OH, located to the south of Cleveland.
The partnership’s core companies, all located within Medina County, include Automation Tool & Die, Inc.; Atlantic Tool & Die; Clampco Products, Inc.; Die-Mension Corp.; Fire-Dex, LLC; ID Images, LLC; Northlake Steel Corp..; SFS Intec, Inc.; Superior Roll Forming Co.; and Technical Tool & Gage, Inc.
The partnership’s apprenticeship programs will be offered in conjunction with Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), Cleveland, OH, and Lorain County Community College, Elyria, OH, and will take place in Medina County at Tri-C’s Brunswick, OH, campus. The initial focus will be on training for advanced manufacturing, with each company attaining certification for its specific apprenticeship program.
While the partnership currently is focused on workforce concerns, it hopes to address other local concerns in the future. The companies will meet in August to form an official board structure, and the partnership is in the process of creating a website.
