Cloud-Based Mobile App Puts Press-Performance Data at Your Fingertips
January 1, 2018Comments
Nidec Minster has introduced FieldHawk, a cloud-based-communications mobile application designed to allow press-shop managers to communicate with their stamping presses from an iOS or Android mobile device. Cloud-based, secured communications allow all authorized users to check machinery status from anywhere they can get phone service or an Internet connection.
With Fieldhawk, users receive real-time updates for press status, operating condition, production data and more. Up-to-the-minute communications keep managers in control of their operations. Service alerts, for example, delivered on a mobile device (from the Minster Production Management Control press-control panel) inform managers of upcoming service intervals required, allowing them to proactively schedule genuine Minster parts and service to reduce downtime.
Further, the ability to remotely monitor stamping-press activities with FieldHawk allows for improved productivity. FieldHawk can issue proactive maintenance reminders and deliver predictive analytics to reduce maintenance costs. And, data collected from the Nidec Minster press control can route into a company’s ERP system to generate operational-efficiency metrics.
Basic functionality includes:
- Asset-operating status
- Asset-maintenance reminders
- Service connection—e-mail and phone
- Production-data exchange
- Remote troubleshooting
- ERP connectivity
- Continued future development and support.
