Coe Press Equipment Corp. highlights its press-feed technology, including the ServoMaster Sonic feed and the piloting feeder/straightener.

The ServoMaster Sonic feed (pictured) is engineered for high-speed, high-precision feeding, ideal for demanding coil-processing applications. Featuring advanced servo-piloting technology, it delivers exact control over pilot timing and location while maintaining ideal pressure for delicate, light-gauge materials. At its core is a direct-drive motor that eliminates mechanical backlash, allowing for pinpoint accuracy in feed length and significantly reduced acceleration and deceleration times. The reported result is smoother operation, faster cycle times and high consistency.

The piloting feeder/straightener, commonly used in Coe’s SpaceMaster compact feed lines, is ideal for facilities with limited floor space. By combining the feeder and straightener into a single, space-saving unit, this machine eliminates the need for a traditional loop between separate components—instead placing the material loop under or behind the coil reel. Depending on the material and application, compact lines can occupy as much as 50% less space than conventional systems. In addition to the space savings, the piloting feeder/straightener can be a more economical choice, often costing less than purchasing a separate feeder and straightener, and removing the need to excavate a costly loop pit, according to company officials. For applications requiring piloting, the system can automatically open both pinch and straightening rolls, allowing die-pilot pins to align the strip with precision before advancing to the next progression—ensuring consistent, accurate feeding throughout the stamping process.
