Amada-Brevis-laser-cuttingAmada’s new Brevis 1212 AJ fiber laser provides the versatility of a production-quality laser in a compact design. It features simple material loading and an optional rotary index to process tube and pipe. Maximum sheet size: 4 by 4 ft. The system’s fiber laser oscillator minimizes power costs, and the machine’s ability to maintain low operation and maintenance costs, combined with a variety of production-enhancing features, enables Brevis to achieve an excellent price-performance ratio.

The machine boasts a 3-kW single-diode module fiber laser engine that delivers a high-quality beam parameter product (BPP).  Laser mode and BPP are automatically optimized based on the workpiece material thickness. Consequently, Brevis efficiently processes a wide range of thin-to-thick materials without requiring a lens change.

Equipping Brevis with a rotary axis provides for a 50-in. tube-processing area, enabling fabricators to cut tube to 7-in. dia. And, using the optional OVS-D feature, holes created by punching machines are measured and their origin positions corrected, enabling combined punch/laser processing.

Brevis is equipped with Amada’s latest generation of intelligent controls, the AMNC 3i, boasting a large 21.5-in. touchscreen for display of thumbnail views of parts or nests and to help ensure efficient editing of shop-floor programming.
