The new HPLC Series CNC plasma-cutting machine introduced at Fabtech by Techno Inc., New Hyde Park, NY, features operating simplicity, low-cost
Plasma Cutter
precision torch positioning and closed-loop position feedback control. The heavy-duty machine frame is a welded tubular structure, ground and stress relieved. Precision ballscrews and closed-loop servos provide accurate torch positioning. A plasma-CNC interface offers these and other commands: automatic digital torch-height control, automatic torch touch off, programmable pierce-time delay with signal pierce verification, and torch error detection. Maximum cutting speed is 800 in./min; z-axis travel maxes out at 5 in.

Techno offers the machine in three models (all equipped to handle 1-in.-thick steel workpieces) with processing area of 50 by 50 in., 50 by 97 in. and 62 by 121 in. Metalformers can outfit the machine a range of plasma-cutting torches, including the Hypertherm Powermax 45 (cut to ½ in., pierce to 3⁄8 in.) and Powermax 1000 (cut to 1.25 in., pierce to ½ in.).
