RAPID + TCT Turns 30—Come Celebrate!
August 23, 2021Comments
Plan now to visit the RAPID + TCT exhibition and conference, September 13-15, 2021, at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, to learn all that’s new in additive manufacturing (AM) technology. Celebrating its 30th year in 2021, RAPID + TCT, postponed a few months due to the pandemic and co-located this year with FABTECH 2021, continues to welcome the greater AM community, introduce new products from more than 200 exhibitors, and provide opportunities to learn from respected experts in the field on a variety of topics.
On the show floor, exhibitors will demonstrate the latest in 3D scanning, CAD/CAE, metrology and inspection, surface finishing and support removal, and related technologies. Visitors will spy new materials on the market—ceramics, metals, composites and plastics, as well as equipment for every metal-AM process including bound powder extrusion, direct metal deposition and powder-bed fusion.
Conference Highlights
September 13-15, 2021 McCormick Place Lakeside Center (Hall E), Chicago, IL Show Hours Monday, September 13: 10 a.m.–6 pm Tuesday, September 14: 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Wednesday, September 15: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. More information: www.rapid3devent.com |
Monday, September 13, at 9 a.m., the conference kicks off with How AM is Disrupting the Aerospace Industry: Opportunities and Challenges on the Road Ahead, presented by Boeing Company vice president Melissa Orme. “The disruption to the aerospace industry will occur when the AM industry has demonstrated that risk associated with AM can be mitigated,” the abstract reads. “The industry is currently on the steady path forward accumulating and archiving data derived from captured opportunities that increase our understanding, experience and maturity, thereby allowing additive-only solutions to their product designs.”
Other presentations on Monday include:
- Empowering Quality Control & Inspection at Every Level with 3D Scanning
- The Next Design Frontier: Generative Design Powered by AI and AM
- Chemical Post-Processing Advantages for High Temperature Metal Alloys on Additive Manufactured Parts
- Direct Part Printing Is the Future, Advanced Automotive Tooling Is the Now
- Hybrid AM: Ready to Use, Finish Machined Large Metal Parts
- Industrial Manufacturers Discuss the Production Readiness of Additive Manufacturing, a panel discussion with panelists from General Motors, Boeing and Desktop Metal.
