May 9, PMA Headquarters, Independence, OH

The Estimating Metal Stamping Dies and Parts seminar introduces die and part estimating, explores die types and construction specifications, provides guidance on planning and processing, and instruction on estimating die costs. Moderating the seminar is Pete Ulintz, PMA technical director, with Jeff Bennett, founder and president of Tool Planners, Inc., providing his expertise on these various topics.

Ulintz and Bennett will guide attendees through writing requests for quotes; selecting the right dies and processes; assessing manual and automatic process operations and their locations within the tooling; working with 2D and 3D files; and methods for estimating die cost, including estimating die materials, labor costs and overhead.

Bennett, developer of DieEstimator.com, has extensive expertise in die-shop management, cost estimating, and tool and automation design.
Ulintz worked in the metal stamping and tool and die industries for 37 years prior to joining PMA in 2015 as technical director.

The price to attend Estimating Metal Stamping Dies and Parts—in-person or virtually—is $399 for PMA members and $599 for nonmembers, with breakfast and lunch included for in-person attendees. And, in-person attendees receive special discounted room rates at the nearby Holiday Inn Cleveland South. Details and to register, or contact Marianne Sichi or 216/901-8800 ext. 150.
