Significant Investment in Automotive-Steel Capabilities

Nucor reports the investment of nearly $1.3 billion into its
automotive-steel capabilities since 2016. The significant investment includes
adding 1.4 million tons of sheet capacity and 1 million tons of galvanized-
sheet capacity, as well as construction of a state-of-the-art specialty cold
mill and hot-dip galvanizing complex capable of producing third-generation AHSS
products.
The company’s range of advanced steel sheet, engineered bar and cold finished steel products are used in automotive applications ranging from drivetrains, frames and suspensions, to exposed body panels and high-tech components. And, Nucor’s R&D capabilities provide custom-engineered solutions to meet automotive-customers’ specific goals.
