Digital Metal, Etteplan Form Design Partnership to Ease AM Transition
October 6, 2021Comments
To ease the transition from traditional manufacturing into additive manufacturing (AM) for customers, Digital Metal, developer and manufacturer of metal binder jetting systems, and Etteplan, a global engineering company, have formed a design partnership. The partnership aims to offer design optimization solutions for Digital Metal binder jetting processes and to offer manufacturing companies the full benefit of the technology—from idea to complete component with volume production in mind, according to Digital Metal officials.
“Together with Etteplan we will be able to offer a stronger value proposition, covering a complete design and manufacturing process, to our customers,” says Christian Lönne, Digital Metal chief executive officer, noting that the combination of Digital Metal’s expertise in binder jetting with Etteplan’s extensive knowledge in design of AM components will acceleration transition to AM for customers.
”Etteplan has invested heavily AM, and we look forward to exploring and create synergies together with Digital Metal,” says Riku Riikonen, Etteplan senior vice president of engineering solutions.
