Transcon Receives Patent for Continuous-Radius Conveyor Plates
May 5, 2025Comments
Transcon Conveyor, Mentor, OH, has been awarded a United States
Design Patent, #US D1,060,924 S, from the United States Patent and Trademark
Office for its continuous-radius conveyor plates. As a conveyor belt travels
around the belt sprockets at the conveyor discharge, the surface of a flat belt
pan will chord in relation to a fixed point on that radius. This chording
action creates a gap between the belt surface and that fixed point. When that
fixed point is a table or chute for the carried part, the part may become
trapped in that gap, which can jam the conveyor or damage the part. The
continuous-radius plates solve this issue by keeping the gap to a minimum
throughout the movement of the belting.
