Along with a host of robot-application demonstrations at Automate 2025, ABB Robotics provided the first North American full-scale look at its OmniCore controller, a control platform delivering faster, more precise and more autonomous automation across ABB’s entire robot portfolio, according to company officials.
OmniCore reportedly streamlines installation and programming while boosting performance. Developed through a $170 million investment, the advanced control platform offers a single architecture that integrates ABB Robotics’ complete range of hardware and software, for flexible, future-ready automation.
OmniCore’s modular design allows users to build and manage robotics systems that range from single cobots to large-scale, multi-robot production cells. It integrates ABB’s entire portfolio of robots, mechatronics platforms and software, from industrial robots to mobile robots and cobots, and its suite of advanced, artificial-intelligence (AI)-powered software tools, including AI, sensor, cloud and edge computing systems.
ABB Robotics also previewed its integrated vision systems—slated for a November 2025 rollout—that reportedly can shorten dramatically the setup time for vision-based applications and featuring full visualization within the company’s RobotStudio robot-programming tool.
