Wilson Hardness, Norwood, MA, an Instron company and the originator of the Rockwell hardness tester, introduces a new Brinell hardness test block compliant to ASTM E10 and ISO 6506. Test blocks boast a 6 by 4.5-in. test and are supplied with a comprehensive certificate of calibration, traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The number of indents per block has been increased from 35 to 80, on average, allowing for 128 percent more tests on a single block than previous models. An engraved indent placement pattern ensures that appropriate indent spacing is maintained, eliminating erroneous readings. Factory calibration indents appear in an octagonal pattern for easy identification. A leatherette-covered steel carrying case with safety clasp is included.
