Die lubricants, metal shavings and other contaminants wreak havoc on gas springs and can significantly reduce cylinder life. Help now is available, as Special Springs has developed Skudos—shields that protect the sealing and guiding components of the cylinder.
The Skudo protective cap extends gas-spring life in severe working conditions by preventing intrusion of metal shavings and die fluids. A Skudo, featured on all Special Springs cylinders, does not affect the height of the gas spring, nor does it wear out.
