Hobart Institute of Welding Technology Recognized as a School of Excellence

The Accrediting Commission of Career School and Colleges (ACCSC) has recognized Hobart Institute of Welding Technology (HIWT), Troy, OH, as a 2024–2025 ACCSC School of Excellence. This prestigious award honors ACCSC-accredited institutions that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to accreditation standards and consistently maintain high levels of student achievement. To qualify, schools must complete the accreditation process without issue, submit all required reports and fees on time, and have program graduation and employment rates that meet or exceed the average among all ACCSC-accredited institutions.
In July 2024, HIWT successfully completed its accreditation renewal with a zero-finding audit—a testament to its excellence in education and operations. Out of 265 schools considered nationwide, only 19 institutions earned this distinguished recognition.
“Hobart Institute of Welding Technology is honored to receive the 2024-2025 ACCSC School of Excellence recognition,” says school president Tom Funderburg. “This award demonstrates the commitment of all HIWT employees to live up to our mission as the premier welding-education resource within the industry.”
