Scholarship from PMA’s Southern New England District Helps Student Thrive
October 13, 2025Comments
The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) Southern New England District is celebrating the success of its scholarship partnership with Connecticut State Community College (also known as CT State), Tunxis campus, located in Farmington, CT. The district’s scholarship fund, originally seeded with $30,000, supports students pursuing advanced manufacturing training at the college’s new manufacturing training facility.
This year the district proudly awarded funds to Alexander
(Lex) Scarlett, a CT State-Tunxis campus student who not only has excelled in
his coursework but who also has become a mentor to peers in his cohort.
According to his advisor, Lex is thriving in the program, embodying the spirit
of leadership and community that the scholarship aims to foster.
Even more inspiring, Lex will share his story at the Tunxis Foundation Economic Breakfast & Networking event, scheduled for October 21, 2025, where he’ll discuss how the scholarship allowed him to afford his education and prepare for a career in manufacturing.
PMA extends sincere thanks to all scholarship donors and supporters whose generosity continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of students.
