Ferris State Applications Lab Welcomes Slant- Bed Turning Center
Students studying manufacturing technology at Ferris State University’s campus in Big Rapids, MI, have a new machine on which to practice and learn: a Hurco TM8 CNC slant-bed machining center. Carpenter to Acquire Latrobe Specialty Metals
Carpenter Technology, Wyomissing, PA, a producer of conventional and powder- metal specialty alloys, including stainless and tool steels, announced plans to acquire Latrobe Specialty Metals, Inc., Latrobe, PA, a manufacturer of high-performance mate- rials for the aerospace, defense and energy industries. Latrobe manufactures its prod- ucts—cold- and hot-work tool steels, high-speed steels and more—at facilities in PA, OH, TX and the UK, and operates seven U.S. distribution centers.
