Exact Metrology Now Represents GOM CT
Exact Metrology, with facilities in Cincinnati and Milwaukee, has become a distribu- tor of the GOM computed topography (CT) scanner in the U.S. GOM, a Germany-based provider of structured light scanning technologies, produces and distributes software,
machines and systems for industrial and automated 3D coordinate measuring technol- ogy, 3D CT and 3D testing based on research results and advanced technologies.
The CT provides 3D data of internal and external component geometries in high resolution, producing fine details visible throughout the component and simplifying initial sampling, tool correction and inspection tasks during production. The system shows its greatest strengths when digitizing smaller light metal and plastic parts.
AXYZ International Rebrands to AXYZ Automation Group
AXYZ International, a Burlington, Ontario, Canada-based manufacturer of CNC machines and CNC knife systems, has launched its new brand identity and logo. Now AXYZ Automation Group, the name represents all of the company’s brand identities: AKYZ, CNCshop.com, and WardJet. A key component to the rebrand, say company officials, is AXYZ’s renewed focus on automation, backed by a broad and deep product line of waterjets and CNC routers.
Mazda Develops Cold-Stamping Process for 1310-MPa HSS
Mazda Motor Corp., via separate R&D projects with Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. and JFE Steel Corp., reports that it has developed the world's first cold- stamped vehicle body parts made from 1310-MPa high-strength steel (HSS). The parts, used in Mazda's new-generation Skyactiv-Vehicle architecture, are slated
