Alro Steel to Acquire Klein Steel

Fagor Arrasate to Supply High-Speed Press Line to Vietnamese EV Manufacturer
  Alro Steel, Jackson, MI, has entered into an agreement to acquire certain assets of Klein Steel, a metals service center operating locations in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, NY. Founded in 1971, Klein Steel provides carbon and stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper and specialty metals to cus- tomers in the Northeast. In addition, it offers a full range of value-added processing services including component
manufacturing and kitting. Alro will continue to operate the Klein facilities and its Express Metals Outlets in Rochester and Syracuse, and the Klein Steel team led by Mike Young will join Alro.
Alro operates more than 70 locations in 13 states and pro- vides an inventory of products under the following compa- nies: Alro Steel, Alro Metals, Alro Metals Outlet, Alro Indus- trial Supply and Alro Plastics.
Fagor Arrasate has received an order from Viet- namese electric-vehicle manu- facturer VinFast to supply a new high-speed full-servo press line for its manufactur- ing complex in Haiphong, Viet- nam. The line, expected to enter production during the first half of 2024, will consist of five servo presses with a total a pressing force of
73.000 kN, shared between a servo-driven 25,000-kN lead press and four 12,000-kN presses. Capable of handling dies as large as 5000 by 2600 mm at each press, the line will stamp steel and aluminum skin parts. Fagor will install the complete line, including front- of-line equipment, the press- es, and automation for inter- press synchronization.
Macrodyne Acquires
German Press Manufacturer Dunkes
U.S. Lubricants to Purchase Lubricant-Processing Facility
Macrodyne Technologies Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a manufacturer of hydraulic presses and press lines for general metal forming applica- tions, hot stamping, deep drawing, coining, hydroform- ing, and other applications, has acquired Dunkes GmbH, a manufacturer of hydraulic presses to 3000 tons for metal forming and assembly applications. Dunkes also pro- duces custom riveting and straightening presses (manual and automated).
“Dunkes is a perfect fit to join the Macrodyne family of companies,” says Kevin Fer-
nandes, Macrodyne president and CEO. “Its strong customer- focused culture, top-end tech- nologies and worldclass cus- tomer base in Europe help both parties in terms of our international expansion plans.”
Together, the combined company will offer expertise in an extensive portfolio of hydraulic presses for a vari- ety of applications, with pressing equipment ranging from 10 to 30,000 tons. As part of Macrodyne Technolo- gies Inc., Dunkes will do busi- ness as Dunkes–A Macro- dyne Company.
U.S. Lubricants, Appleton, WI, a division of U.S. Ven- ture, has entered into an agreement to purchase a turnkey lubricant blending and processing facility in Baltimore, MD. The 105,500-sq.-ft. facility pro- vides blending, packaging and storage capabilities.

Benchmaster Takes on
Amada Press Systems’ Product Lines
Ramco Specialties, Inc., Hudson, OH, has announced the groundbreaking at its headquarters for expansion of its current facility by 50,000 sq. ft., exclusively for manufac- turing. The construction is expected to be completed in June 2022.
Once the new manufactur- ing space is ready, it plans to install three new part formers and one nut former. The part-
forming machines will allow for the production of 9-in.-long parts to 3-in. dia., while the nut formers will be able to pro- duce 32-mm nuts.
The announcement of Ramco’s Ohio expansion follows the news of its purchase of a third building in South Lyon, MI, where an investment in 10,000 sq. ft. for machining production will increase capacity to manu- facture precision parts.
Benchmaster, Inc., River- side, CA, a manufacturer of mechanical-clutch (5- and 10- ton) and pneumatic-clutch (5-, 10- and 15-ton) presses, has signed a representative agree- ment with Amada Press Sys- tems America. The addition of Amada’s line of gap, straight- side and servo presses will
allow Benchmaster to offer a broader catalog of solutions for any application or project. In addition, Benchmaster also will offer in-plant or field serv- ices for all products, including repairs, overhauls, factory component replacement and safety guarding for standard and custom presses.
