Andritz to Supply Push Pickling Line
for AHSS Grades to Ternium Facility in Mexico
The Ternium steelmaking plant in Pesquería, Nuevo León, Mexico (near Monterrey), has ordered a new high-end push pickling line from Andritz, designed for advanced high- strength steel grades. The new line, with an annual capacity of 550,000 metric tons, will be used mainly to supply the automotive and home-appliance industries. Startup is sched- uled for mid-2024.
Andritz will supply the complete mechanical strip-transport equipment setup with precision leveler and automation pack- ages, and provide process technology including high-turbu- lence hydrochloric acid pickling, and compact rinsing and dry- ing sections specially designed for push pickling lines.
Dalsin Industries Opens Automated Metal-Fabrication Plant
Precision metal fabricator Dalsin Industries, Bloomington, MN, has opened a second facility, in nearby Lakeville, MN. The new 42,000-sq.-ft. plant features Salvagnini automated punch- ing and bending equipment, “an example of our continuing investment in improved processes and automation that are critical to maintaining our double-digit annual growth rate,” says company CEO Tom Schmeling.
GF Machining Solutions to Open Medical Center of Competence
As demand for implants, surgical devices and other medical components grows, GF Machining Solutions will intensify its support of North American medical manufacturers with the opening of a new Medical Center of Competence at its Lin- colnshire, IL, facility.
The center will provide manufacturers supplying the med- ical industry with applications support along with production technologies including precision milling, EDM, laser texturing, micromachining and automation.
Advanced Tooling Solutions Opens in Newville, PA
Three experienced metal forming professionals—die design- er Larry Zinn, tool and die maker Jason White, and machine- rebuild specialist Mike Weber—have joined forces to open Advanced Tooling Solutions, LLC, Newville, PA.
With a combined 90+ years of service to the metal form- ing industry, the trio offers expertise in die design and devel- opment, high-speed stamping, and industrial-machine rebuilds. Among the firm’s capabilities: design in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; production stamping on 30-ton Bruderer press- es; and machining (surface grinders, mills, lathes, EDM and more).
