PIAB Opens Subsidiary in India
Vacuum-conveying and automation-system provider PIAB, based in Sweden and with North American head- quarters near Boston, MA, will open its 18th sub- sidiary in Chennai, India. Operations will begin in June to support its distribu- tion network and provide training and technical sup- port. PIAB manufactures vacuum pumps, vacuum conveyors, suction cups and other accessories.
Detroit Skilled-Worker Staffing Agency Expands its Reach
Diversified Industrial Staffing, Troy, MI, which provides skilled workers including CNC program- mers, machinists and certi- fied welders, has announced a plan to bring its services to markets all over the United States. Included in its list of new markets: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Nashville and St. Louis.
The company provides employers with qualified candidates who have under- gone resume, reference and criminal-background checks, and have taken drug tests.
Tax Credit to Help MI Stamper Expand, Create Jobs
Thanks to a Michigan Economic Growth Authority tax credit, Lenawee Stamp- ing Corp., Tecumseh, MI, plans to expand its automo- tive-stamping and assembly plant. The $6.6 million
expansion will immediately create 81 new jobs, the company says, with the potential to create a total of 277 jobs. The company, which currently employs 172 workers, will receive a state tax credit of $873,000 over seven years. Meanwhile, the city of Tecumseh also is consider- ing a 12-yr. personal prop- erty tax abatement, valued at $397,000.
Aida-Mexico Operating Full-Steam Ahead in Monterrey
The Aida Engineering de Mexico, S. de R.L. de C.V. facility in Monterrey, which opened in February of this year, offers a variety of serv- ices to Mexico’s metalform- ing industry, supporting all Aida, Manzoni and Rovetta equipment.
Included is upgrades and retrofits to electrical and mechanical press systems and controls; preventive- maintenance inspections; pressroom relocation; upgrades to press-automa- tion equipment; and emer- gency breakdown repairs and supply of spare parts.

Automotive Stamper Announces $6.4 Million Expansion
Ralco Industries Inc., Pontiac, MI, announced plans to invest $6.4 million to expand to a larger facili- ty, thanks in part to state tax credits worth a com- bined $2.6 million over seven years. The tax credit helped to convince the firm to expand in Michigan rather than move to a com- peting site in Tennessee.
Ralco, which according to its website “specializes in converting expensive castings into low-cost weld- ed assemblies for automo- tive exhaust-gas-recircula- tion (EGR) systems,” expects to hire 100 additional work- ers as part of its expansion.

Fort Wayne Tool and Die Shop Adding Equipment
GT Automation Group, Fort Wayne, IN, a designer and manufacturer of metal stamping dies and special machines, and a precision machining house, plans to invest $180,000 in new equipment by the end of the year. The company, founded in 2003, will acquire a new CNC table-type horizontal boring mill, other CNC milling equipment and new cranes. It also plans to hire three additional skilled workers—machinists and toolmakers.
