Tiyoda-Serec Takes New Name: Serec Corp. The Tiyoda-Serec Corp.,
North Kingstown, RI, has changed its name to Serec Corp. The firm designs and manufactures airless vacu- um-cleaning systems that clean or extract lubricants from stamped and machined parts. The systems incorpo- rate built-in vacuum distil- lation for a solvent recovery rate to 97 percent.

to Add New Laser-Cutting Machine
In September 2010, Eckmann Custom Products, Racine, WI, a provider of stamped and deep-drawn metal parts and spin-form pulleys, added a 4400-W laser-cutting machine to its stable. The machine, a Bystronic BySprint Pro 3015 model, can cut alu- minum to 1⁄2-in. thick and steel to 3⁄4 in. Eckmann uses the machine for proto- type development and for short-run production, to eliminate the need, in many cases, for blanking dies.
Slitting and Slit-Coil Packaging Line Installed in Mexico
Braner/Loopco, Schiller Park, IL, has installed and commissioned a 1⁄2- by 72- in. single-loop slitting and slit-coil packaging line at
the Villacero steel-service center in Monterrey, Mexi- co. The line features a tur- ret-head slitter with two quick-change heads, push- button tooling lockup, vari- able tensioning and auto- matic slit-coil handling. It can process grade 80 hot- rolled black and pickled steel, and cold-rolled coils from 0.9 to 12.7 mm thick.
