OSHA Publishes Guidance
on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19
This 32-page online resource from the U.S. Department of Labor and OSHA, OSHA 3990-03 2020, contains recommenda- tions as well as descriptions of mandatory safety and health standards as they relate to COVID-19 (the coronavirus). Among its contents: How a COVID-19 outbreak could affect work- places; Steps all employers can take to reduce workers’ risk of exposure to SARS-CoV-2; and Advice for workers living abroad or travelling internationally. “The recommendations are adviso- ry in nature, informational in content, and are intended to assist employers in providing a safe and healthful workplace,” notes the overview. “This guidance is not a standard or regula- tion, and it creates no new legal obligations.” Visit www.osha.gov/Publications/OSHA3990.pdf.

US Metal Crafters Acquires Speed Metal
US Metal Crafters, Arch- dale, NC, has acquired the assets of Speed Metal, Arch- dale, NC, returning the compa- ny from Chinese to American ownership. The rebranded business will operate as US Metal Crafters, LLC. US Metal Crafters, over the next five years, plans to add more than 100 jobs for welders, fabrica- tors, computer-automated machinery operators, engi- neers and office workers.
Neff Press Gains Aerospace Contract
Neff Press, Inc., a St. Louis, MO, press builder, announced that it secured a contract with a major aerospace company to build and install a 60-ton cus- tom servo-electric column press. Designed with 70-in. daylight, 48-in. stroke and a bed area of 61 by 46 in., the press accommodates the cus- tomer’s loading and unloading requirements and provides
dwell capability. Neff also sup- plies an open-architecture con- trols platform with data acqui- sition, as well as integrated safety and quick die change.

COE Announces Online Store for Express Equipment Ordering
Coe Press Equipment, Ster- ling Heights, MI, has launched its e-commerce online store to support its express delivery program, found on the Coe website, www.cpec.com, by clicking the Online Store link.
As part of the equipment- buying process, users can send comments such as equipment-installation requests. The equipment avail- able for purchase on the site includes standard Servo Mas- ter servo roll feeds, standard- duty power straighteners and coil reels in varying sizes. Weiss-Aug Completes Acquisition of
The Diemasters
The Weiss-Aug Group, East Hanover, NJ, a contract manu- facturer performing precision metal stamping, insert mold- ing and integrated component assembly, has completed the full acquisition of The Diemas- ters Manufacturing, Inc., hav- ing previously acquired the controlling share of the com- pany in November 2015.
The Diemasters, Elk Grove Village, IL, specializes in close- tolerance fabricated-metal and stamped components, as well as fully assembled, fin- ished products.
ECI Software Solutions, Fort Worth, TX, a provider of cloud-based business man- agement solutions, announced that its CEO, Ron Books, and president and COO, Trevor Gruenewald, have been hon- ored with regional and interna- tional awards.
Books was named the Fort Worth Business Press’ 2019 Top Private Company CEO. The award recognizes leading pri- vate company CEOs for their leadership and contributions to their organizations and communities. Books, who started at ECI in 1999, took over as CEO in 2009. Working alongside Gruenewald, Books reinvented ECI’s business strategy, helping the company to improve customer unit retention to more than 90 per- cent, increase customer rev- enue retention from 85 to 100 percent, grow the customer base from 4000 to 16,000 worldwide and increase head- count from 315 to nearly 1400 ECI employees.

a deciding factor in Gruene- wald’s 2019 Fort Worth Busi- ness Press C-Suite Award win, which also recognized his civic and social contributions. In addition to helping manage ECI’s global workforce, which continues to grow because of the company’s acquisition strat- egy, Gruenewald is an active member of his community.

AK Steel Honored by Newsweek magazine
AK Steel, West Chester, OH, has been named to Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies 2020. The magazine ranked 300 organizations from more than 2000 of the largest public com- panies by revenue to deter- mine “which firms were tops when it comes to doing good.”
