Tech Update
Continuous-Coil Fiber-Laser Cutting
Dimeco Alipresse, a French manufacturer of press-feed lines, introduces Linacut coil- fed laser-cutting lines for processing material 0.3 to 4 mm thick. The lines include a 5-ton decoiler, coil-loading car, precision straightener, threading table, 2-kW fiber laser, roll feeder, seven-axis gantry robot and stacking table.

A Press-Brake
Operator’s Best
MultiCam Inc., DFW Air-
port, TX, introduces its V Series
CNC plasma-cutting machine,
recommended for entry-level
as well as experienced man-
ufacturers, and particularly
those on a tight budget.
Offered as an easy-to-ship kit,
the machines reportedly can
be assembled and ready to
operate in 4 to 6 hr. The
included EZ-G code and EZ-
Suite application software
allows users to quickly convert
drawings to machine code. And, V-Series machine support and technical assistance is provided by a local MultiCam Technology Center.

Wila USA, Hanover, MD, introduces the Smart Tool Locator, a tool designed to increase press-brake productivity. Inte- grated LED lights in the firm’s new standard hydraulic clamping system indicate, under
V Series Plasma cutting machines feature a custom-engineered extruded aluminum frame with steel leg supports. They include (as standard equipment) automatic torch- height adjustment, along with powerful dual X-axis drive motors and Hypertherm Pow- erMax plasma-cutting torches. the control of the press-brake CNC, where the press brake operator should position the tooling. The Smart Tool Locator also indicates to the operator where to make the next bend, following the bend sequence of the part being formed. The LED lights mount behind the ruler inside the cover strip of the clamping system. This protects them from damage and avoids interfering with the sheetmetal part being formed.
Production Hydroforming Press Promises High Throughput, Low Cycle Time
Wila offers the Smart Tool Locator as an option on its standard premium clamp- ing system, and expects that later this year it will be available on other Wila tool hold- ers as well as for retrofit.

Interlaken Technology, Chaska, MN, has introduced a four-column hydroforming press (250 to 5000 tons) for running high-volume production with reduced cycle time. Prom- ising optimum control over forces and motions, the press features multichannel closed- loop control—easily programmed to handle various blank sizes and material types. Dynam-
