Missouri Metalformer Headed in the
Right Direction
The Detroit Tool and Metal products stamping and fabri- cating facility in Lebanon, MO, has announced plans for a second expansion, on the heels of another expansion nearing completion. The cur- rent project, which consoli- dated a former facility in
Iowa with the existing opera- tion in Lebanon, brought 115 new jobs to the plant, and another 10 jobs soon will be added. The second expan- sion will include a 35,000- sq.-ft. addition to the 77,000-sq.-ft. plant and bring another 75 new jobs.
Detroit Tool and Metal Products provides precision stamped and fabricated parts to the appliance,
agriculture, consumer prod- ucts, defense and other industries.
Stamper Investing to
Increase Fineblanking
Capacity
Jackson Precision Indus- tries, Jackson, MI, announced plans to invest $2.2 million in new fineblanking equipment, and to build a 3600-sq.-ft. addi- tion to its facility. The proj- ect, supported by a recently approved tax-abatement request of the Blackman Township Board, will lead to the retention of four jobs and the creation of four new jobs, according to an article in the Jackson Citizen Patriot. The firm provides low- and high-volume fineblanking, stamping, machining and grinding.
Multiblanking Line with Corrective Leveler Online at Windy City Service Center
Alliance Steel’s service center in Bedford Park, IL, has installed a precision multiblanking line from Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, IL. The line, which includes a Herr-Voss corrective leveler, is rated for material to 72 in. wide and 0.135 in. thick, to 60,000 PSI tensile strength.
The line joins the facility’s three existing slitting lines.
Buffalo Stamper Adds
Hydroforming Press
Metal Craft Spinning and Stamping, Ltd., Buffalo, NY, has added a Verson hydro- forming press to its arse- nal, allowing the firm to pro-
vide low-volume runs of irregularly shaped parts at tight tolerances. The press complements the firm’s metal-spinning and deep- draw operations, used to manufacture parts from brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel and cold- rolled steel.
Stampers Unite to
Open a New Plant
in Tennessee
La Vergne, TN, is the home of Tottser-Iroquois Industries, a brand new metal-stamping facility that opened July 1 to serve the area’s automotive industry. The company, which expects to employ 25 people, is a joint venture between Iro- quois Industries, Warren, MI, and Tottser Tool & Mfg., Philadelphia, PA.
