PostProcess Collaborating via Finishing Technologies with Fraunhofer IAPT on AM Advancement
July 13, 2021Comments
PostProcess Technologies Inc. and the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Additive Manufacturing Technologies IAPT, in an effort to further drive additive manufacturing (AM) to production scalability, are collaborating on research that includes use of PostProcess post-processing technologies.
This includes collaboration on surface-finishing technology for metal parts in the PostProcess Deci Duo system by printing high-precision test specimens in a variety of materials, and providing accurate measurements and analysis of finished parts. In addition, to promote the end-to-end systemized digitization of its fused deposition modeling (FDM) processes, Fraunhofer IAPT has recently installed a PostProcess Deci support-removal solution for use on resulting thermoplastic parts.
“We are proud to be collaborating with Fraunhofer IAPT, such a well-respected pioneer in AM research, and look forward to continually develop new data-driven innovations for additive with the help of this new partnership,” says Florian J. Künne, DACH and APAC general manager for PostProcess Technologies.
