Expanding CB Fabricating Nominated for Award by Indiana County Chamber of Commerce
June 1, 2015Comments
Sheetmetal fabricator CB Fabricating, Inc., Anderson, IN, has been selected as a finalist for the Small Business of the Year Award, presented by the Madison County Chamber (MCC). The award honors a Madison County-owned and MCC member company that has been in business five or more years; has fewer than 100 employees; and has excelled in visible growth and achievements, adherence to the company’s brand promise, and investment in the community both through business and community support.
Throughout the past year, CB Fabricating, a manufacturer of a variety of products including custom industrial machines, subassemblies, welded fabrications and precision-fabricated parts, has significantly expanded its equipment roster and facilities space while hiring additional full-time employees to serve new customer contracts. It added 6000 sq. ft. of space, for a total of 17,000 sq. ft., to accommodate an Amada FO MII 3015 NT laser-cutting cell and an Amada press brake. The additions have expanded the company’s production capacity by 75 percent and allowed nearly around-the-clock production. With the expanded capacity, CB Fabricating was able to hire additional employees, adding a second shift to its workforce with more hires planned for 2015.
Also, continuing a tradition started decades ago by his mother Julia Kattner with her sheetmetal business, CB Fabricating owner Chris Barkdull and his company contribute to the community through many organizations and efforts, including work with the Fire Rescue House, Habitat for Humanity, Pendleton Artists Society and others.Technologies: Bending, Cutting, Management
