Next-Generation Press Brakes

Trumpf’s new TruBend Series 5000 press brakes deliver high axis speeds and acceleration rates, combined with innovative operating aids. Features include a new on-demand servo drive with four-cylinder drive technology. To ensure bend-angle accuracy, the automatically-controlled bending (ACB) system takes measurements through sensors integrated into the upper tool, while a laser system measures bend angle through a contactless optical process, and therefore is compatible with any tooling. When bending short sides, reflective surfaces, or when multipoint measurement is required, the established ACB is the obvious solution. The laser system proves useful when processing acute and open angles, as well as thick sheetmetal.
Trumpf outfits the brake with its new Touchpoint TruBend control concept, with an intuitive interface providing realistic 3D visualization and a multi-touch screen that responds to the operator’s touch even when wearing work gloves. The entire working area of the press brake is well-lit by LED lighting at the front and inside of the machine, and its tool indicator also features LED lights to display tool locations, to help reduce setup times.
