Connecticut Spring & Stamping to Present at Shingo Prize Conference
September 1, 2012CommentsSelf-Directed Work Teams Improve On-time Delivery and Quality is the title of the presentation that Connecticut Spring & Stamping (CSS) will provide for the 2012 Northeast Shingo Prize Conference, September 25-26 in Worcester, MA. CSS vice president of continuous improvement Gaston Pelletier and continuous improvement engineer Greg Mitera will give the presentation. They will discuss how the firm’s use of self-directed work teams achieves “ambitious 100-percent on-time delivery and quality objectives.” Among the operational improvements that Pelletier and Mitera will discuss: printing job-start dates more visibly on work orders; setting up break areas close to production lines; and procedures for moving material more quickly to the shop floor.
