PMA presents Stamping Higher-Strength Steels, a five-part virtual seminar series, beginning on Tuesday, February 6. The series covers everything you need to know about stamping higher-strength steels, and consists of five 2-hr. seminars hosted by five industry experts. The schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, February 6, 1-3 p.m. ET—Material Properties-Part 1
Thursday, February 8, 1-3 p.m. ET—Material Properties-Part 2
Tuesday, February 13, 1-3 p.m. ET—Lubrication Redefined
Thursday, February 15, 1-3 p.m. ET—Resistance Welding
Tuesday, February 20, 1-3 p.m. ET—Stamping Processes
Dealing with higher-strength steels demands knowledge of key topics, including the origin and effect of elastic and plastic stress and strain; the effect of different mechanical properties on different forming modes; and corrective measures for springback, dimensional variation, heat and friction that increase as yield strength increases. The series will discuss these topics, as well as proper pressroom equipment selection; special process considerations for correcting coil defects and managing springback; applying the science of lubrication to your advantage; using data to drive lubricant decisions; and welding higher-strength steels.
