Keith J. Howell, COO of ArcelorMittal North America, Schererville, IN, has been appointed president of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) for 2022–2023, noting that his focus will be “on our core value of advancing the technical development, production, processing and application for iron and steel… The way we communicate, interact and work today is much different than how we did just a few years ago, so we need to make sure that we adapt and continue to provide networking and training opportunities to the industry within this new normal and to reinvigorate our membership. This is important now more than ever with the industry focus on decarbonization and the amount of research and technology transfer that will happen over the next several years in this area alone.”
