August 2, 2023Comments
BorgWarner announced plans to build a new manufacturing plant, focusing on power-electronics components and electric motors, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, where it has been operating for more than 8 yr. The new facility, expected to be open by Q2 2024, will be the first BorgWarner plant in San Luis Potosí that will integrate a cleanroom, enabling the firm to become an electromobility manufacturing hub. It also will house a product validation testing laboratory, with a focus on inverters, opening the door for the development of new technologies inhouse and moving forward its strategic expansion towards e-mobility products and technology, under its Charging Forward 2027 strategy.
