ISM Report: Manufacturing Contracts, But Some Segments Show Growth

Manufacturing economic activity contracted at a faster rate in February, according to the Institute for Supply Management’s February report. Following the January figure of 49.1%, the highest reading in more than a year, ISM’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index registered 47.8% in February, down 1.3 points. However, eight of 15 manufacturing industries reported growth last month, including fabricated metal products.
