Magna has announced the expansion of its lighting division in Querétaro, Mexico, following multiple business awards in rear lighting from various automakers. Commenting on the $17-million expansion, Jeff Hunt, president of Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting, says: “Lighting is a growing segment within the mobility industry, playing a critical role in both vehicle safety and design and aligning perfectly with our forward-thinking business strategy.  (This expansion) further solidifies our commitment to advancing new products and innovations in lighting, and we express our gratitude to the employees, customers, local community and state of Querétaro for their continued support.”

Magna’s lighting division in Querétaro manufactures rear lighting equipment, including tail lamps and appliques, for several global automakers. Once the 165,000-sq.-ft. expansion is complete, Querétaro operation will encompass more than 340,000 sq ft.
