PMA Chairman Doug Johnson Featured in Washington Post Article

In a June 4 Washington Post article titled, “Economy Shows Resilience Despite Mounting Recession Fears,” PMA Chairman Doug Johnson, president of Marion Mfg., states: “There’s so much pent-up demand, and everybody I talk to—our suppliers and our customers—say the same. We’re up 40 percent over last year and climbing. This month, we were up 100 percent over last year. It’s incredible.
“I’m not sure what’s driving all the talk of recession,” said Johnson. “There’s a lot of negativity out there that’s not well founded.”
The article features interviews with prominent economists and offers up an explanation of the difference between recession and what they call “moderation in growth.”
