Business-Software Suite Tackles Program Management, Profit Optimization and More

In March 2024, automotive Tier One supplier Martinrea International Inc.  launched Mindcan Inc., a software company offering solutions to help enhance manufacturing-program management, profit optimization and sustainability reporting, among other capabilities. Martinrea, which developed and implemented the solutions several years before, launched Mindcan to make the software solutions accessible to a wider audience. 

The four programs within the Mindcan platform:

  • Mindcan Program+—A solution which helps to manage complex programs and projects involving thousands of individual tasks and hundreds of people
  • Mindcan Profit+—A cost-optimization platform for idea generation across the organization, visibility on progress and reporting on financial targets
  • Mindcan Sustain+—A program to help collect, track and report on environmental sustainability information, in a centralized location
  • Mindcan Customer+—A CRM system to help track and manage the customer-relationship lifecycle.

Describing two of the programs in more detail, Martinrea chief technology officer Ganesh Iyer says:

The result is an efficient workflow that tracks cost-reduction ideas coming from throughout the company, including the shop floor, through evaluation, implementation and measurement. Mindcan Program+, which fully automates program planning, scheduling and tracking, is designed to help program managers mitigate waste and delays caused by issues related to communication, coordination and lack of time, quality and cost controls.”

With Profit+, the C-Suite gains cost-optimization tools, clarity on focus points and visibility on progress towards actions taken, all designed to create confidence in meeting targets. The goal is to implement a culture of cost optimization across the entire organization, achieving cost improvements that can be verified and accounted for towards the bottom line.

Among key features:

  • Collect and rack cost-saving ideas, and rank and score the ideas based on level of maturity and value
  • Identify areas of weakness through ready-to-view charts and dashboards
  • Integrate with the financial system tor actual cost data
  • Cloud-enabled, with a native mobile app
