3D Printing Survey Is Revealing

CommentsWhile prototyping remains the No. 1 use for 3D printing services, a Sculpteo survey of 1000 professionals shows production as a fairly close No. 2. In analyzing findings from ‘The State of 3D Printing 2018 survey, which invited multiple responses, Case 24.com ranked the uses:
#1 – Prototyping (55%)
#2 – Production (43%)
#3 – Proof of Concept (41%)
#4 – Marketing Samples (18%)
#5 – Art (16%)
#6 – Education (16%)
#7 – Hobby (10%)

Furthermore, Case24.com also sought to identify from the report what the professionals’ thought were the biggest benefits gained from implementing 3D printing technology. Their findings:
#1 – Complex geometries (48%)
#2 – Reduced lead times (39%)
#3 – Engineering redesign (28%)
#4 – Reduced steps in assembly line (22%)
#5 – Continuous improvement (18%)
#6 – Supply chain optimization (9%)
#7 – Remote
