Colorado Community College Set to Open Advanced Manufacturing Center

July 26, 2019

Front Range Community College in Longmont, CO, Boulder, joins a growing number of community colleges with advanced manufacturing centers. The school’s Center for Integrated Manufacturing, set to open Aug. 1 with a grand opening celebration, houses four advanced manufacturing programs to help meet employers’ needs. Colorado expects to get 5000 new manufacturing jobs by 2026, according to a news release.

“Advanced manufacturing is booming in Colorado but many local companies can’t find enough workers with the right skills and training to fill these well-paying jobs,” says Andy Dorsey, president of the college. “By educating people in our community, we can help local companies meet their critical need for employees, and provide students strong career opportunities.”

The grand opening will include tours of the 27,000-sq.-ft. facility and information about careers in manufacturing from local employers, as well as demonstrations of some of the center’s equipment.
