Seminar Offers Instruction on Press Maintenance and Safety
February 1, 2016Join the Precision Metalforming Association in Nashville, TN, on May 3, 2016, for a seminar on safe metal-stamping-press operations and efficient and practical preventive-maintenance inspection procedures. Speaker Jeff Fredline, from IMC Corp., will discuss these and other topics: the differences between hydraulic and mechanical presses, how to troubleshoot press drive units, the importance of brake stopping time and safety distance, frame and column alignment, how to quickly check crown alignment, allowable tolerances for proper installation and performance, lockout/tagout procedures, and basic OSHA press safety requirements and the record-keeping systems to ensure compliance.
