Alliance Automation, LLC, Grand Blanc, MI, has introduced its next-generation robotic waterjet-trimming cells, now outfitted with intensifier pumps from Jet Edge, Inc., St. Michael, MN. Featuring dual wall-mounted Motoman HP20D robots and Jet Edge’s 60KSI iP60-50 pumps, Alliance Automation’s new six-axis robotic trimming cell ensures consistently tight part tolerances.
Most commonly used in the automotive industry, the robotic waterjet-trimming cells precisely cut shaped parts with many angles from a wide variety of materials, including carpeting, fiberglass, foam and plastic. The wall-mounted robots allow for the first two axes to be mounted forward, over the part. This feature allows for a larger work envelope and motion to work more easily around large shaped parts. The robots also are able to quickly retract to a home position out of the for the loading and unloading of parts, reducing cycle times and increasing operator safety.
