The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) has added several new courses to its online training platform, METALFORM EDU, designed specifically to familiarize and attract incumbent workers to the metal forming industry. These introductory courses are centered around four competency categories: project management, metalworking processes, machining and metal cutting.

PMA subject-matter experts partnered with 180 Skills, an educational consulting firm, to develop the courses, which will be part of a new metalworking career path within the 180 Skills catalog.

“PMA’s partnership with 180 Skills reinforces our commitment to helping our members and industry recruit and train a high-caliber workforce,” says Nichol Lopriore, PMA workforce development director and executive director of the PMA Educational Foundation. “We look forward to continuing to work together with 180 Skills to expand the METALFORM EDU library with additional courses for key industry jobs and skill sets.”

PMA and 180 Skills are developing courses in die protection and safety, additive manufacturing and industry 4.0, which will be released later this year.
