M.S. Willett Acquired by German Group of Companies

On February 4, 2020, the Aue, Germany-based Blema Kircheis division of The Leonhardt Group announced it had acquired 100-percent interest in M.S. Willett Inc., a Cockeysville (Baltimore), MD-based manufacturer of high-speed transfers, custom automation, conversion systems, tooling and contract stamped and fabricated metal components. Blema and Willett have previously collaborated on projects to provide customers with high-speed, fully integrated metal packaging solutions such as food cans, snack containers, candy and mint tins, as well as decorative and cosmetic packaging. Blema Kircheis, manufactures metal and composite packaging machinery. Effective with the purchase of M.S. Willett, Uwe Leonhardt takes over as chairman of the board, and Sebastian Leonhardt is chief executive officer. Willett’s engineering services continue under the direction of 40-yr. company veteran Gary Ruby, while the firm hired David Stone on May 1 to oversee sales and marketing activities.
