When Enginetics Aerospace Corp., Huber Heights, OH, was tasked with forming particularly complex parts, it turned to Hyson, Brecksville, OH, for its Press Solutions servo-controlled cushion. Enginetics fabricates jet-engine and aerospace structural components. It installed the servo cushion on an Aida servo press. While linked directly to the press, the cushion complements servo-press technology by accurately and precisely dialing in the force at a specific position needed for critical forming processes, not possible with conventional equipment.

The user-friendly touchscreen display of the cushion provides ease of use and simple programming. Onboard health monitoring and diagnostics combined with an optional wireless direct-service link provides the user with real-time service and maintenance support from the Hyson Press Solutions Team.

Says Hyson general manager Hank Kelm: “With advanced materials becoming more popular, the cushion provides stampers the added force in addition to flexibility and precise control.”
