Miller-IntelliPath-robotic-welding-programming-PerformArcMiller Electric Mfg. LLC has launched IntelliPath, an offline programming software designed to speed and ease robotic-welding programming, and enhance performance of Miller’s PerformArc robotic-welding systems.

With IntelliPath, operators upload a STEP file of their part and the software automatically generates weld paths, weld-joint information and a finalized draft program, eliminating the need for manual programming. The software accounts for collision avoidance and optimizes the robotic path to help ensure efficient and safe operations. Additionally, an intuitive point-and-click interface reportedly allows for simple adjustments, easing operation for welders of all skill levels. This streamlined approach significantly cuts programming time compared to traditional teach-pendant methods, according to company officials. And, the advanced programming reportedly enables quicker changeovers in scheduling production, allowing traditional welding automation to accommodate high-mix operating schedules.
