A 60-in. slitter, from Chicago Slitter, Itasca, IL, along with a traveling bridge crane are on their to stainless-steel service center Stainless Sales Corp., Chicago, IL, for installation later this year. The slitter features three slitting heads and will run a newly purchased shimless tooling system that the firm pledges will quicken setups, improve setup accuracy and produce tighter tolerances.
Also, Stainless Sales recently invested in a remote-controlled 20-ton overhead crane from T&M Equipment Co., Merrillville, IN, to increase its inventory-storage capabilities.
