Venture Steel to Add Slitting Line at Mexico Facility

North American metal processor and distributor Venture Steel, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, announced plans to acquire a high-production slitting line from Athader S.L., part of The Bradbury Group.  The firm will install the line in Venture Steel’s newly expanded manufacturing facility in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. Line capacity: 0.250 by 62 in., by 80,000 lb., with the ability to handle material tensile strength to 110,000 psi; maximum line speed, 600 ft./min.  The line includes a slit-coil packaging setup and state-of-the-art automation, including a double-eccentric slitter head with capstan, automated slitter-tooling changeover, quick-change separators, dual tension rolls with hydraulic lockup and automatic overarm-separator changeover.

With six locations across Canada, the United States and Mexico, Venture Steel provides flat-rolled steel, stainless-steel and aluminum products.
