Solar Atmospheres of Western PA Obtains Pratt & Whitney Approval

pratt-whitney-thermal-processing-Solar-atmospheresSolar Atmospheres of Western Pennsylvania, Hermitage, PA, has been awarded Pratt & Whitney, PWA 11, “Heat Treatments” approval, positioning the facility as a top choice for customers requiring thermal processing that meets Pratt & Whitney's rigorous standards. The facility is now certified to perform heat treatments for P&W’s Suffix 17, “Precipitation Harden,” and Suffix 22, “Austenitize, Quench, and Temper.”

Says Justin Hoffman, the facility’s quality manager: “Hermitage is thrilled to join other Solar locations in achieving Pratt & Whitney approvals for heat treating non-rotor parts. With our specialized furnaces and unique capabilities, we are prepared to process parts immediately for precipitation hardening, austenitizing, quenching and tempering.”
