Lapham-Hickey Steel Acquires Alkar Steel and Processing

Steel-service center Lapham-Hickey Steel, Bedford Park, IL, announced its acquisition of Alkar Steel and Processing (ASAP), Warren, MI, effective December 31, 2024.  ASAP’s 125,000-sq.-ft. facility provides cold-rolled, galvanized, high-carbon and hot-rolled pickled-and-oiled products. It will operate as a division of Lapham-Hickey, with its existing sales and operating team, and retain Patrick Fayad as president.

Lapham-Hickey operates from 13 locations throughout the Midwest, East Coast and Southeast United States, as well as in Mexico, supplying slit coil, sheet, plate, bars, tubing and fabricated products.
