Dave Robinson LK Metrology Talks to MetalForming at IMTS
September 19, 2024Comments
LK Metrology, New Hudson, MI, introduced its Altera shop floor bridge coordinate measuring machine (CMMs) at IMTS, Chicago Sept. 9 – 14. A number of aspects make it suitable for the shop floor, according to Dave Robinson. marketing manager.
First, the guardrails use positive air flow to protect it from contaminants. It is equipped with intelligent anti-vibration technology to isolate the machine from vibration that would otherwise interfere with accuracy. The scale system’s ceramic construction has a zero coefficient expansion to ensure an optimal stiffness-to-weight ratio, and resistance to temperature variations, engineered to enhance measurement reliability. The machine is equipped with optical technology, scanning technology, and vision technology to offer greater flexibility in a production environment, and is multi-sensored.
This series is suited for industries with rigorous metrology standards including aerospace, automotive, and medical, Robinson says.
