Steinel Normalien AG offers a nitrogen cylinder with an integrated sensor system that measures pressure and temperature inside of the cylinder, and enables remaining-lifetime calculation. Data can be transmitted via wireless connection or cable to the machine controller, a PC or custom applications. Positioning of the sensor system in the base of the nitrogen cylinder offers two key advantages over external sensors, according to company officials: Measured data are more precise and the installation in the tool saves space. The data not only allow continuous limit monitoring but also display the remaining lifetime.
